2001 Tenute Rubino Visellio Primitivo Salento, Puglia

Better than the 2000, and perhaps the best version ever. It has a deep, concentrated ruby colour. Its nose is inviting, clean and precise, with classic notes of sour cherries in brandy and faint hints of cocoa. The flavour is full, firm and rich, with well-delineated tannins and powerful fruit: a great Southern Italian red.
