Singleton of Glen Ord 12 Year Old Traditionally Batch Distilled.
Glen Ord is typically only available in Asian markets but now joins Dufftown and Glendullan under Diageo's The Singleton banner.
Glen Ord is a well-respected distillery, sought after as a single malt and by blenders alike. The distillery operates its own in-house maltings, which supply all of Diageo's northern distilleries, as well as Talisker and occasionally heavily-peated malt for the Islay sites. Glen Ord was first officially bottled as a single malt in the 1980s, but has had a bounty of different names over the years; Glen Ord, Glenordie, Ordie, Ord, and Muir of Ord. It is currently part of the Singleton stable
Colour: Gold.
Nose: Chocolate-coated dried oranges, hints of cured ham, ale, chocolate and a little parsley.
Mouth: Rather nice. Granted, big maltiness and the honeyed notes are very pleasant. Faint smokiness, orange cake, cloves, maybe wild thyme, liquorice drops
Finish: Rather long, smoky, malty and liquorice. Honeydew (or fir tree honey) in the aftertaste.
