Lagavulin 16 Year old 1990 Distillers Edition

As usual, this one was finished in PX casks.

Colour: Deep amber.

Nose:Just a perfect blend of rather heavy smoke with chocolate. That’s it, smoked chocolate. Other than that it’s a cortege of soot, strong espresso (ristretto), coal, beef stock and strong liquorice.

Mouth: Just as dry as on the nose, very coffeeish and liquoricy, with notes of bitter toffee, malt and stout. And peat, of course. Also hints of coriander.
