This is bottle 18, from cask 3952. Distilled 21st December 1979.
From old tasting notes: on the nose tinned fruits in syrup - mandarins or mixed fruit salad. On the palate there is poached pears a full bodied dram. The finish is long and vanilla influenced with honeysuckle.
Colour: full gold.
Nose: Lemon, musk and rosewater and chalk, switching to oranges and wax as well as newly cut grass and something like damp peat smoke plus mint. Gets surprisingly beefy after a few minutes.
Mouth: excellent attack, rather punchy , bitter oranges and cough syrup plus loads of dried ginger. Beautiful peat, wax and various kinds of pepper. Excellent grassiness as well, crystallized lemons, pine resin... Top notch, by far my best Glen Albyn ever
Finish: long, with an exceptional bitterness (superb resinous notes).
