It is with the “Praepositus” line that the monks of the Abbey of Novacella express all the extraordinary elegance of the best wines of Alto Adige. White and red wines that come from their own vineyards and represent the most absolute excellence of the estate, rich and very fine wines, capable of a thousand facets, particularly long-lived wines to which it is stimulating to return even many years after the harvest. Lagrein, the result of a careful selection of grapes, is red which is vinified in steel and left to mature for a long time in wood. A relaxed, deep and complex Lagrein, waiting to be discovered.
The Novacella Abbey, the largest Benedictine abbey in Tyrol, is visited every year by many tourists from all over the world, attracted by the beauty of the place, the evocative atmospheres and the specialties offered by the monks, including of course the wines, which have always been produced with infinite care and competence, and which collect great national and international successes. Lagrein Riserva from the Praepositus line of excellence is a full-bodied and elegant red, with a deep ruby color and a wide bouquet of wild berries, juniper berries, dark chocolate and licorice. On the palate it has great structure, soft tannins and a long spicy finish.
