2020 Timbrus Poliforia Note # 2 Purcari Valley

This one from the Timbrus winery smells of plums, berries and a thick slice of gingerbread. The Shiraz also provides spiciness in the mouth. And the Malbec for liveliness. And the Rară Neagră? It ensures that it is still typically Moldovan. The pronounced aroma of blackcurrant, strawberry, blackberry, red apples. Well-balanced tannins , with a fruity and velvety aftertaste.

Color: Intense red with a purple undertone.

Aroma: Elegant notes of raspberry, along with a slight scent of spices.

Palate: Fresh, round, and well-balanced with ripe tannins. It opens up with flavors of prunes and ripe cherry.

Finish: Long-lasting and intense.

This wine is a blend of Shiraz (55%), Malbec (40%), and Rară Neagră (5%) grapes, all manually harvested.

A unique feature of this wine is its subtlety, with a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. Ideal serving temperature is between 14 to 16°C, and it pairs beautifully with red meat, pilaf, or steak with vegetables.
