This excellent Valle de Cafayate Criolla “Extremo” 2018 is the result of the vinification of the autochthonous variety of the same name, grown at over 2000 meters above sea level. A red produced in a limited number of bottles that brings in the glass the typical freshness of high altitude vineyards combined with a rare and refined complexity.
Brilliant ruby red color and luminous to the eye. Intense nose that tells of small red fruits, citrus and refined flowers. In the mouth it is marked by an important acidity, but at the same time it possesses fabric and volume. Sumptuous in length.
The esteemed Tim Atkin MW recommended it at a trade tasting a couple of months back. I was fascinated by what I found here. Super pale Ruby colour, forest, smoke, still got a lot of body despite its looks, bursting with red fruit flavours and refreshing acidity keeping things fun and lively. Delicious!
