1985 Baron Gaston Legrand Bas Armagnac
Baron Gaston Legrand Bas Armagnac is a high-quality French brandy made in the Bas Armagnac region. The brandy is made from a blend of Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes and has a rich and complex taste profile.
The grapes are hand-harvested and then fermented using traditional methods. The wine is then distilled in small copper stills, giving the brandy its unique character and flavor. After distillation, the brandy is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 20 years, allowing it to develop its rich flavor and complexity It’s a full-bodied brandy, offering floral and fruity notes and refined texture.
Colour: Full amber.
Nose: Very Fresh. Fantastic whiffs of beehive, nectar, golden sultanas, then overripe apples, ripe black cherries… Lots of prunes nnd old sherry! It’s just great old-style armagnac.
Mouth: Soft, notes of cake and tobacco kick in. But the oak’s there as well. Very well intergrated.
Finish: Very smooth with notes of caramel and fudge.
