An old bottling of Hennessy's VSOP Cognac. One of the 'big four' producers in the region, the house's cognacs are highly regarded and we estimate this bottle dates from the 1980s.
Incredibly smooth - oak hints without bite. Raisin. Sweet & light, no heat till it's gone. Surfing on a booze kite. Rich, leathery, smooth, sweet.
Colour: Amber (caramel).
Nose: Raisins, liquid caramel, then melon and peach liqueurs, plus a wee notes of old middle-range sweet wine. There, Monbazillac. Some heather honey too.
Mouth: Lots of raisins, maple syrup, corn syrup, and just a touch of tobacco.
