1977 Baron Gaston Legrand Bas Armagnac
1977 Baron Gaston Legrand Bas Armagnac
This premium brandy is made from hand-selected grapes that are distilled and then aged in oak barrels for over three decades, resulting in a complex and smooth flavor profile. With notes of vanilla, dark fruit, and a hint of spice, this brandy is perfect for sipping neat or mixed into a cocktail. The same source also mentions that the bottle size is 700ml, the ABV is 40%, and the Armagnac age is 1978
Colour: Amber.
Nose: another one that’s very lovely, this time more traditional again, with polished wood, marmalade and mango jam (not that mangos are often to be found in Armagnac), then an obvious floral side, with orange blossom this time again, ylang-ylang, lime blossom, even lilies… Some cappuccino and mocha too. Beautiful aromatic nose.
Mouth: Oak and cocoa, apricots, quinces and perhaps rose petals. Also touches of dried porcinis.
Finish: rather long, fruitier than all the others, and rather on coffee-mirabelle this time.
